Finally did a long run in my 2XU tights and also the running tee for standchart on the sunday morning at 6am.. in case most of u don't know.. i.. erm.. made an error in selecting the correct size for my running tee.. why do they always have to keep on changing the sports apparel sponsor which has different sized cutting for its sizes..?!?! And so according to the measurements given on the website.. i took an -- XS..

Goddamn it's tight..!! i don't mind the running tee tight.. but the size given is also the same for the finisher tee..!! OMG..!! Hope the shirt won't be that bad.. and also wat i really hope for.. is that they allow a change.. goddamn..

Note to self: always choose S-M size for anything and everything.. it's okay to be abit small and abit big. but not TIGHT..!!

anyways.. did my final long run before standchart.. did it with the gear that i'll be putting on for the actual day.. and Runner's World's advice is so true -- try to have a long run with the gear that you'll be wearing for race day..
several things happened..

firstly, the 2XU tights were great.. i don't know how but they just felt great..
secondly, the tightfit standchart shirt isn't that bad.. i think if it's a bit bigger, i could have gotten some abrasions in the armpit region. Plus it's an Asics running singlet, the technology is supergreat. I don't feel the shirt clingy to me when it's soaked with my perspiration and it feels rather smoothly cool on the skin instead.. Think i'm gonna buy several in future.. and the size isn't so bad..
thirdly, the running belt i wore took some adjustments to find a suitable spot where it just stayed there without revolving around my waist.. u know those belts that have tiny bottle compartments and bottles on them..? yeah..i bought one.. and i found a nice spot to put it around my waist..
fourthly, my ITB acted up again.. think it's due to my increased mileage.. i plan to incorporated more walk breaks to allow my ITB to recover before i pound the pavement again.. so i plan to take a walk break at every drink station.. yeah. that sounds good.. and that's my running strategy for standchart..

but now i've got the sniffles..!! aacckkk..!!! *sniff*

Went surf-fishing with ryan, ben and chow on saturday.. The idea was to go changi village.. get the stuff and then go to changi beach to fish.. bought like 10bucks worth of live prawns inititally.. then went to fish.. we had trouble hooking the prawn onto the hook.. coz it's either the prawn gets bitten off but the hook part's untouched, the hook kills the prawn, or the prawn gets thrown off the hook upon casting.. epic failure moments.. plus we're all beginner/novice anglers, i was the only one that knew how to tie the knots.. but i was super noob on saltwater fishing, especially the rigging-the-prawn part..

ouhwell.. we changed location once from changi point carpark 4 to carpark 6 after ben told us that his friend caught this huge stingray there.. so we went there.. freaking hell.. when we reached there it was high tide but the wind was super strong. And being a weekend, there were lots of other anglers there too.. so there was kinda of a lack of space coz we were afraid of entangling lines.

Not a single hookset.. WTF..!!! only our prawns got bitten off.. them small fishies nibbling on them.. but the thing is.. not a single angler on the whole stretch of changi beach got a hit or a strike.. not one at all..!!

the only consolation we got was ryan and chow having some small little palm-sized crabs humping on their prawns.. really just humping on their prawns.. not even on the hook.. then dropping off and digging deep into the sand..

it was low tide and it was so low that i could wade 10m out and cast my lure and it's just only up to knee level.. We've been spending 6 hours fishing at a spot where there was NOTHING..!! how irritating..!! but wat to do.. we were already there and dusk was coming in.. so we went home empty handed.. Zero Fighters us all.. And i had to lose my X-rap lure AGAIN..!! wtf..!!

Went to Beach Rd with Ryan on sunday to accompany him go buy his fishing gear.. I feel bad.. I kinda got Ryan hooked on fishing.. lol.. coming saturday, we're going for some saltwater fishing at changi..

Been a real tiring week lately.. the workload's piling up.. after standchart.. i have back to back live firing ranges to conduct.. a real test of my mental endurance. Yeah. the tiring part of live firing is not the shooting part. It's to stay alert for the slightest breach of safety and to ensure that safety is never compromised.. and live firing always involves night shooting so it gets real tiring..

Bought some paintball stuff online.. I suddenly got the itch to ball.. really wanna let my aggression lose..

After being called a hyperactive monkey by peewee.. i realise that i AM a hyperactive monkey for i have so much activities i wanna do and so little time to do it, so i end up cramming everything up and having little, if not, no time for my social life..

So i've given my hyperactive activities a good thinking over..
I have: --
Archery,
Fishing,
Running,
Paintball

and i've come up with a likely schedule to supplement all of these.. I'm gonna look at weekends coz that's the only time i have for monkey-time..

Saturday's will be mainly for archery.. if i'm not tired.. i can squeeze in fishing before and after archery.. in the early morning and in the evening..

On sundays, if i have the expenses, i'll go down for paintball. Either for team training or to sharpen my individual skills.. and if i don't have the expenses. then i'll go for a run. And also, i can squeeze in fishing in the early morning or in the evening..

There.!!

that isn't so bad for a hyperactive monkey..

Feeling damn melancholic now..
A gloomy state of mind..
The same feeling i got when i woke up from my bed on the last week of BSLC, on the 4th of February..

I feel quite empty inside. Like there's no sense of direction.. No light to guide my way.. It's like I've just stepped out of my path of life and now find myself wayward and lost..

It's such a real empty feeling.. a hollow feeling..

Had a real nice, long chat with chinyan yesterday after we collected our standard chartered marathon racepacks. But it made me feel much more dreadful to talk about it.. at how i've never done anything about it.. but that's over.. just some remnants still left behind.. And to even realise that i'm just nothing.. just a tool. someone to be used. makes the recovery even worse..

thought i could just sweat it out at archery today.. but it didn't happen. I didn't have the strength to shoot at all..

hope tmr's run would clear things up..

One whole week spent in camp wtf.. plus today and tmr that'll be 9 days in total.. not to mention inclusive of a 24hr guard duty yesterday..

Would you believe it.. that I lost all motivation and inspiration to run last week..? T'was a shitty feeling. Didn't like it at all.. Wasn't in the mood to go for a run.. maybe coz of the realisation that i had to spend a significant amount of time in camp and spent 24hrs with a lazy person..

But in that 24hours, i spent it all on reading 2 Runner's World Magazines and somehow or rather, reading through the articles on the experiences of runners out there.. I managed to motivate myself again.. Now i'm itching for a run..

*sigh*

one week of non training.. that means i'll have to alter this week to accomodate for the lost of mileage and training intensity.. but everything looks fine so far..

just bought myself a pair of 2XU compression shorts for me to use on my long runs.. especially since 2 weeks ago, the 2hour run ended up with my blue shorts turning dark blue coz it was soaking wet.. Hmm.. my first pair of compressions shorts/tights.. Prolly use them for standard chartered as well.. I'm considering purchasing another pair of full-length tights for recovery after runs..

oh well.. till then..

Been sick this week.. rather bad.. fluctuating fever, flu with bad nasal congestion and flow and a nasty cough.. didn't do much marathon training. Fell sick on tuesday, so at least i did monday's workout..
Not gonna payback on the workout's i missed.. coz i only missed a wednesday workout.

Got a new Blackberry Curve 9300, just a simple phone with internet access and also something for me to upgrade my plan on after incessant, neverending nags from my mum to change my plan.. so might as well get a new phone too.. so now i can take pics of the fish i catch =D.

I set up a twitter account too.. just randomly set up.. lol..
