Melancholic Rhetoric

Okay.. so i haven't been updating in 3 weeks..
And those 3 weeks passed by very fast..

Section quick attack live firing..
CSB navigation test back in lower mandai.. which thankfully i passed.. the ghosts of exercise gypsy have been put to rest.. checkpoint BULL.. the checkpoint i found myself at when my detail got lost during Gypsy was the checkpoint i was to find for CSB Nav-ex.. so the 'locale' knowledge was a bit of a help.. i carried the signal set all the way during the day.. surprisingly i did not feel that tired or have my back and shoulders aching while carrying it..
then GPMG live firing.. kinda fun.. the machine gun is one hell of a monster.. sad to know that these weapons are made to kill.. the rounds.. 7.62mm rounds.. were made to decimate flesh and rip bones apart.. i'm pretty damn sure that if one of these things were to be let loose on me.. there better be a concrete block between me..
sunday had COS-CDT duty together with sabaruddin..

Platoon field camp at upper mandai-marsiling area.. quite an interesting field camp.. though quite short alot has been learned.. i guess it's thanks to having 2 Guardsmen in my platoon and one of them is a Ranger.. the experience that they share are a great boon and has always been ever since i stepped into charlie company.. there was one occasion on the last day where we had a platoon battle course.. an interesting battle course.. my section was to provide the security element for my platoon.. and again.. i find myself having strength i didn't know i had.. when all around me, my buddies are panting and sweating and there i am running around.. taking up their positions as they try to catch up to the demands of providing security to the platoon.. it was quite exhausting.. and we had to do a CasEvac.. and at the point in time.. i was thankful that back at Golf Coy we did a CasEvac in FBO.. so now.. it wasn't that hard..

the past week..

another outfield.. but this time it's Urban Operations.. this time.. it's held at the Neo Tiew village.. interesting place.. very different from MUTF.. i mean it's like.. this place.. people once lived here.. and it's more practical coz it's actual flats that's the basis of design of most HDB blocks in singapore.. it's a good place to train.. had a really great time here.. it was fun..
oh ya.. there were 2 live firings during this week.. one at the start and the other at the end of UO.. so the past week really passed by fast..

coming week..
the final hurdle for that badge on my chest.. the final 32km route march coupled with a display of combat skills such as rifle assembling, marksmanship and crossing water obstacle..

and also.. platoon live firing..

honestly.. i've never been thru so much live firing before.. week after week there's live firing..

oh well..

i realise that if i don't update my blog regularly.. the entries become monotonous and brief.. kinda something i don't fancy.. i shall try to update regularly..

that aside..

personal life.. been spending most of civilian life with archery or going out with my family.. okay so it's pretty much saturdays are mine with archery or whatever ME-time and sundays are spent lazing at home or out with family..

before i end this off.. me and jordan came across this interesting phenomena some weeks back.. so i tried it again this week.. i sang the ever famous entre to Lady Gaga's Bad Romance song.. that Hooooaaahhhh-hoooo.. after singing that part i stopped.. and guess what.. the phenomenon happened..
Cindy continued the song from where i left off..!!! LOL..!!
Everytime, say, we're walking back from retrieving then me and my crazy self would just hum or sing the song.. then cindy would follow suit either singing together with me or singing after me.. and she the amazing thing is.. she can't control it..!! LOL..!! so whenever i sing a familiar song.. she'll sing after me..

Even when i sang SNSD's latest hit Oh!.. she can sing after me.. LOL..!! damn funny..!!

i think that's all.. it's been quite a long entry..
think i shall stop writing about my army training.. it's getting kinda.. common..

2 weeks into 54th Advanced Section Leader Course (ASLC)
otherwise officially known as 03/09 Professional Term..

Already on the first day we had to have a 5km run.. what a welcome note.. Platoon 1 Section 4.. a.k.a the Melayu section coz 8 out of 13 of the section are malay.. i have irwan back with me in the same bunk and surprise surprise ahmad jumadi from GESS with me too..

1st week..
SOC circuit training.. lectures.. and the highlight of the week was demolition live firing.. freaking loud man.. beats boom boom pow hands down.. lol.. a great experience though..

2nd week..
River crossing.. got sick coz the water entered my ear and i got a throat infection which lead to a slight fever and a blocked/runny nose.. but i still soldiered on.. GPMG technical handling. Freaking monster of weapon.. made to rip apart human flesh. Made to kill. then it's the ever infamous SOC test.. a test that will determine my saturdays and one veto factor off my mind for the next 10 weeks.. i passed though.. but at a very very slow timing.. but the most demoralising part of it all was that it was the first time in my life i slipped off the low rope.. first time in my life..!! i couldn't grip the rope at all with my boots.. the morning dew making the rope wet and slippery.. ended the week with an 8km run..

it's gonna be tiring the next few weeks.. super jammed packed and rushed with field camp after field camp then the ever well-disliked exercise crescendo to thailand..

i'll keep updating as much as i possibly can..

coming week..
section quick attack live firing.. GPMG live firing which will see me booking out early on a saturday morning and COS duty on sunday going to a week of field camp.. gotta get my stuff prepared as much as possible with whatever available time..

been having nice dreams lately.. lol.. keep them coming.. at least these dreams will keep me from losing my mind..
