Scenario: A conversation with old friends on clubbing.

Friend 1: Guys.. Zoukout coming soon u guys up for it..?

Friends2, 3, 4: Yah yah yah.. let's go ah.. CLUBBING..!! Girls man..!! Girls..!! (starts to get excited of the notion of going clubbing)

Friend 5: Yeah man.. been a few months since I went clubbing. miss the deep bass beat and, ya guys, the girls.. in them skimpy clothes..

GUYS: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH (lots of laughter)

Friend 3: eh hafiz. long time since we last met up. Have u gone clubbing before..? Don't worry ah.. God can close one eye.. go clubbing lah..
Friend 4: ZoukOut at sentosa.. c'mon lah fiz..

Hafiz: Aiyah.. clubbing.. no big deal ah.. i go clubbing every weekend..

Friends 1, 2, 3, 4, 5: HUH?!?! u go clubbing every weekend..?!?!?

Friend 2: walao.. hafiz..!! go clubbing never jio.. like this sia call friend..

Friend 5: yalah fiz.. what sia u.. which club u go to..?

Hafiz: Ouh.. Archery Club lor.. training every weekend wat..

And so i got selected for Spinnovex. Happy? yes and no..

Happy: I slogged it out for three quarters of a year doing research and developing my project. Learning things that are way beyond me and my coursework, photonics. Trying to understand the principles behind it and juggling that with my own coursework. Bringing home thick books to do reading up. Late nights in the library reading some of them too thick to bring home or some of them which are only for reference. Searched for manufacturers and companies in Singapore that deal in this industry. Can you believe it? Only 2 such companies exist in singapore? And they're not even manufacturers, they're just regional middlemen a.k.a distributors linking singapore to major laser systems companies abroad. But they have good service. Then comes to ordering the components which have to go thru one hell of a financial system just to get it approved. And wat's worst is that the components get delayed. And my group has to work with watever we have to carry out testing. Basically, improvising. Then the main device gets really delayed. And it's the MAIN thing. And we had to make do again.
All in all. The culmination of a whole lot of time spent one developing one idea has finally paid out. The event where the best student projects are put on display. And i get to dress HANDSOMELY. Ladies..!! Ladies..!! Hafiz will be all dressed up.. Go take picture with him..!!

Not happy: I have to improve on my project, especially the programming part, which as of now, has nothing at all. Coz the main device which actually requires the programming hasn't arrived. It's arriving soon though. By this week. By this week. Excited, yet somehow reluctant. And so in the mean time, falina and i are trying our very best to improvise with an outdated data acquisition device. And now that we have Finally got to know how to use the ancient thing, the main device would be coming in soon. And we would have to redo it again. *weeps*..


I cannot falter now.. not when i'm this close to success.. the major mistake that almost everyone makes is giving up when they're so close to success. And i will not give up. Not now. Not when i'm this close.
