Melancholic Rhetoric

Boredom reigns thick in the air..
An unbearable ennui..
Mists of uncertainty and weariness clouds the surface..
Vast empty plains of inactivity..

That is the -- Half-baked Autonomous Frenzied Insidious Zone..

Sounds creepy huh..?
And a boring place..
In case you haven't notice. the acronym of the place I just mentioned spells out __________.
I'm actually bored enough to find words for each letter.

Trying my utmost best to keep myself from just lazing around infront of the tv or doze off on my mattress of a bed..
And yes.. i am freaking bored out of my life..

well let's list down what i can do..
Bow training - it gets tiring after awhile and the fasting ain't helping..
watching tv - nothing interesting to watch..
reading - hmm..

yeah reading.. I haven't done any serious reading in a long time.. the last time i ever read something worth my good read was Dan Brown's Deception Point. But now.. now that JP2 has an interesting bookstore called San's Bookshop which also rents books out. It has a very wide range of novels from fantasy to sci-fi. Fantasy & sci-fi.. two categories of genres that I have had trouble looking for in the past.

Fantasy -- Strange for a guy like me to be reading fantasy but it's a certain type of fantasy that i'm interested in. The fantasy universe of Magic: The Gathering which is a card game which somehow the makers have integrated storylines into the game expansions. And in the past, i have had trouble searching for the books. But i found them -- in San's Bookshop. But they're rather incomplete, at least they have them.

Sci-fi -- Boys will be boys i have to admit, and there's no limit to the imagination of a boy that reaches into the outer limits of known Space and beyond the stars. From the futuristic Power Rangers to the Transformers. Nothing ceases to amaze us boys when it comes to vehicles and weapons of the future.
Adding on to that, what i want to bring into particular attention is the world of Warhammer 40,000, a popular tabletop game that became so popular it got marketed into other forms such as card games, the thing that leapt the game to stardom -- a computer game by the title: Dawn of War and of course in the form of novels. And again you can find them in San's Bookshop and surprisingly in order.

What attracts me to this world of Warhammer 40,000 ( the 40,000 refers to the human race 31,000 years in the future ) is the gothic fiction. It tells of the human race set in a distant future where Man has united as one on earth and now transcend the borders of known Space. And Man has become some sort of an occupational force, going from world to world to conquer them and bring them under the rule of Man. And they do the conquering by means of Space Marines, giant, genetically enhanced super soldiers with world-destroying firepower and unswerving fanatical loyalty to the Emperor of Man. It's just very nice and beyond description for me to properly express how i like it very much. There's bound to be bloodshed ( somehow i realise that destroying and killing things seems to be the enjoyment of us boys ), there's brotherhood, faith, corruption, betrayal, and even the mystics of the unknown.. it's really great i tell u..

And there is a rather famous series of books that have been published on the Warhammer Universe and it's basically the history of how the warhammer universe came to be what it is that we see in the video game. It's called the Horus Heresy and it's a series of novels dating back to 2006 and still publishing material on it. Even though the basis of the idea of how the Horus Heresy played out and ended has been made known. The range of novels has only covered up to a certain part.

I've started on the series in late july but due to work haven't got into spending time reading it. But now that i've stopped working, i can continue with the rest of the series. So far they've published 13 books. I've just finished reading book 2 hence the sudden expressiveness of my boredom, waiting for money to buy the next book.

woah. didn't know i would write this long.. lol.
